Dedicated to the memory of Anthony "Tony" Napoleon - 1949-1994
I had the pleasure to work with Tony while I was Chief Engineer at WMMM. He served as our Production Director in addition his on-air duties. Tony's down-to-earth friendliness was apparent whether the microphone was on or off. He was a true professional who took pride in his work and could be always be counted on without fail. I rarely saw him get upset about anything, as Tony managed to turn obstacles into opportunities.
Tony's radio career included working at WNLK in Norwalk, WMMM in Westport, WGCH in Greenwich and WREF in Ridgefield. In addition, he also owned and operated Sound-Nap Studios, a small recording studio in Westport that catered to audio productions for a variety of corporate clients.
Tony had been a survivor of throat cancer early in life, but beat the odds and re-embarked on his career in radio. Tony had suffered from poor health for a period of time prior to the heart attack that would prove fatal.
Many notable people in Fairfield County radio were in attendance at the services for Tony. I will always fondly remember the fun I had working with Tony as well as the friendship I had with him. I know he will be greatly missed by many.
Tony is survived by his wife, Donna, and two sons, Robert Joseph and Anthony John Napoleon.
